Simplex Glyph

Glyph or Iconographic Image Description:

This simplex glyph represents the occupation "amacuitequi" (perhaps "one who makes paper apparent"?). It shows a human (right) hand reaching in from the viewer's left. The hand holds the handle of a device that has a white square with a frame around it, attached to this handle. Could it have been used for holding up paper notices? Or was it a tool for paper making?
