Challi (MH663r)

Challi (MH663r)
Simplex Glyph

Glyph or Iconographic Image Description:

This black-line drawing of the simplex glyph for the personal name Challi (“Jade” or “Introduced”) is attested here as a man’s name. The glyph shows what may be a tiny glyph of the type shown below for two other Challi glyphs, but also what may be some tesserae of green stone (chalchihuitl).

Added Analysis:

If the person’s name is not meant to be jade/green stone, then perhaps these visuals are phonetic indicators for the verb chalia, to introduce or inaugurate.
