Eyi Tochtli (Mdz2r)

Eyi Tochtli (Mdz2r)
Simplex Glyph
Notation

Glyph or Iconographic Image Description:

This simplex glyph plus notation represents a solar year date of Eyi Tochtli (Three Rabbit, or 3-Rabbit). While the image did not capture it, this date is enclosed in a black-line box, which is indicative that it is a date. The turquoise blue paint over the entire box and its contents is a phonetic indicator that this is a year date, given that year (xihuitl) and turquoise (xihuitl) are homophones. The three ones of the notation are circles with a dot in the middle of each one. Sometimes these circles are empty, and sometimes they have concentric circles inside. So, there are some variations.
