tepetl (Mdz46r)
Element from a Compound

Glyph or Iconographic Image Description:

This element for hill or mountain (tepetl) has been carved from the compound sign for the place name, Tototepec. The removal of the bird at the top of the hill has left some distortion of the usual bell shape. The coloring is classic, however. The hill is a two-tone green with curling, rocky outcroppings on the slopes and horizontal red and yellow lines at the base.
