Tzoniztal (MH618v)

This black-line drawing of the simplex glyph for the personal name Tzoniztal ("White Haired," attested here as a man's name, shows a broad lock of hair, standing straight up, with a tie around it, near the bottom. The tie brings to mind the tzontli or centzontli that is 400 (blades of grass, sticks, etc.) that were bundled and paid as tribute. The -itzal part of the name is not shown visually, unless one counts the lack of a colorant for the bundle.
