teponaztli (Mdz63r)
This is an example of the iconography of a teponaztli horizontal drum. It sits on a woven red yahualli (circular base). It has an H-shape cut in the top, with added lines of decoration. The way it is painted shows that it was made of wood.

The museum comparison image below shows a more elaborately carved design in the wood.
