Aquil (MH592v)
This black-line drawing of the compound glyph for the personal name Aquil (“Red Maize,” attested here as a man’s name) shows two corn kernels (presumably red). to get the reader to read the term as starting with "A-," the scribe added little, bifurcated sprays of water coming toward the viewer from each kernel. The sprays of water each have lines of current (movement) and droplets at the tips.
