Added Analysis: 

In the original compound, this chichi was likely a phonetic indicator for chichic (bitter). Here, singled out as an element, it could be considered a logogram. While a tlacuilo drawing this animal as a simplex logogram probably would have included more detail, this simple sketch does convey "dog."

En el glifo compuesto original, este chichi era probablemente un indicador fonético de chichic (amargo), pero en este caso en el que se aísla como elemento bien podría considerarse como un logograma. Este simple bosquejo logra transmitir el significado de “perro”, aunque probablemente un tlacuilo que dibujase este animal como un logograma simple lo habría plasmado con más detalles.
