Ecoc (MH673r)

Ecoc (MH673r)
Simplex Glyph

Glyph or Iconographic Image Description:

This black-line drawing of the simplex glyph for the personal name Ecoc (“He Arrived”) is attested here as a man’s name. The glyph shows a bird’s eye view of three alternating footprints (suggestive of movement across space). Two of these are contained within the vertical lines of a road (otli), although this road also has horizontal divisions between those two prints.

Added Analysis:

Notice, in the other examples of the name Ecoc below, one also involves footprints–as does Totecoco–, and one employs a leg with an attached foot.
