ixtli (MH521v)
This black-line drawing of the element of ixtli (eye) has been taken from the compound glyph for Atlix. The eye shows European stylistics; it has evolved considerably from the red and white stellar or starry eye of the Codex Mendoza of nearly two decades earlier. For example, it has an oval shape and something that looks like an eyebrow.
