Malin (MH772v)
This black-line drawing of the simplex glyph for the personal name Malin (perhaps "Twisted" or "Captive") is attested here as a man's name. The glyph shows what may be a piece of grass bent over and twisted, from the verb malina, to twist. Another option would be "captive" from the noun malli, which is what the gloss suggests. If it is the latter, then the twisted grass serves as phonetic indicator.
