The image of this shape-shifting spirit (nahualli) is a simplex glyph that is a copy of the simplex glyph for the personal name Coyotl Inahual ("Coyote is His Nahualli," MH488r). The placement of the nahualli on the crown of the head is significant. The coyote's tongue protrudes.
