Teicniuh (MH498v)
Simplex Glyph

Glyph or Iconographic Image Description:

This black-line drawing of the simplex glyph for the personal name Teicniuh ("Friend of Everyone") is attested here as a man's name. It shows a human being in profile, facing toward the viewer's right. His left arm is raised, and his right arm is out in front. Behind him is an object that has yet to be deciphered. Perhaps he is leaning back on something.

Added Analysis:

To speculate, the gesturing of the arms may suggest a person who is ready to welcome or embrace others--and this is the indication that the person is a friend to everyone.
