Tlailotlac (MH687v)
This black-line drawing of the simplex glyph for the personal name, title, or ethnicity, Tlailotlac is attested here as a man’s name. It shows an upright shape, something like a leaf, but with a border and something of a grid or mesh pattern inside the border in the main part of the leaf-shape. It also has a separate base that is slightly broader at the bottom than it is where it connects to the leaf shape. This shape is something like the background for the calli in Calmimilolcatl, below.

Other glyphs for this same name, title, or ethnicity appear below. Each one is fairly unique, including this one. One cause of the variations may be the range of meanings for Tlailotlac, from a personal name, to a title for a magistrate, to an ethnicity. Tlailotlaqui was also a label applied to someone in contempt. These glyphs require further research.
