Xochinemi (MH499v)
This black-line drawing of the simplex glyph for the personal name Xochinemi ("He Goes About the Flowers," attested here as a man’s name) shows a frontal view of a large blossom with a tripartite sepal and a short stem. The edges at the top of the flower (xochitl) swirl somewhat. There is nothing in the glyph to convey the second part of the name (-nemi), to live or go about.
