tlaximaltepoztli (Mdz37r)
This example of iconography from the Codex Mendoza shows a frontal view of a flared copper blade for a hatchet (tlaximaltepoztli) that would be used for cutting wood. The wide part of the blade is upward. The terracotta color points to copper.
