chalchihuitl (TR20v)
chalchihuitl (TR20v)
This example of the iconography of green stones or jade (chalchihuitl) comes from the Codex Telleriano-Remansis. It is a detail from the representation of the divine force called Chalchiuhtotolin (see below). This example shows three green stones interspersed with brown turkey feathers. The gems have a green upper part, then a red band, a smaller white band that is segmented, and finally a white half-circle with a concentric u-shape.
