Glyph or Iconographic Image Description: 

This black-line drawing of the simplex glyph for the place name Tepetzinco (“At the Little Hill") shows a frontal view of a hill or mountain (tepetl). The glyph is verging on a European-style landscape painting, with a flowering cactus, crags, and grasses added to convey something of the environment. Also, the contours of the mountain are shaded, for a three-dimensional effect. Some of the shading is gray, and some of it is red.
