Tecanal (MH745v)
This black-line drawing shows two stones (tetl), one in the foreground and one partially visible behind it. The one in the foreground is nearly horizontal. It has the diagnostic curly ends and diagonal stripes across the middle. Only the rounded ends are visible for the stone behind. The stones provide the phonetic indication that this name starts with Te-. The rest is not shown visually. The gloss is required for full understanding by outsiders.
