Glyph or Iconographic Image Description:

This simplex glyph that serves as a notation comes from folio 2 verso (image 7) of the Codex Osuna. It shows a tree-like shape that stands for the number 400 (centzontli). It is a drawing in black lines that has an added pink wash over it. Perhaps it is meant to be a pine tree, and the number of needles could approximate 400. It is not clear. A tzontli, besides being 400, is also a large hank of hair, almost impossible to count. This simplex glyph standing for a notation, however, does not look like human hair.
