Nepolol (MH829v)

Nepolol (MH829v)
Simplex Glyph

Glyph or Iconographic Image Description:

This black-line drawing of the simplex glyph for the personal name Nepolol (perhaps “Self-Destructive”) is attested here as a man’s name. The glyph shows a left hand at an angle, palm toward the viewer, and short curving lines below the hand.

Added Analysis:

Perhaps these lines suggest movement, as though the hand is hitting or slapping. But it this visual is reminiscent of the popoloa glyph where someone is meant to be lavishly spending money (with coins freely falling away from the hand).
