Temocihui (MH502v)
This black-line drawing of the simplex glyph for the personal name Temocihui (perhaps “Importune Person” or “He is Annoying”) is attested here as a man’s name. The glyph shows a human or animal face in profile, facing the viewer’s left. This creature has a pig-like snout or a ring in its nose.

Another Temocihui name glyphs (below) is far more complex, having three elements. Perhaps the tlacuilos faced a challenge in creating visuals that would capture behavior or personality.
