Tezaca (MH895v)
This black-line drawing of the simplex glyph for the personal name Tezaca (“Long Lip Plug”) is attested here as a man’s name. The glyph has been added to the face of the centecpanpixqui (guardian of 100 tribute payers), in lieu of making a separate face for the lip plug (tezacatl).

This name, Tezaca, could be spelled Tenzaca, as an alternative. Both terms appear in the Vocabulario of Alonso de Molina, and they are both translated in that vocabulary as “bezote largo.” Lip plugs come in a range of shapes and colors, as seen below.
