Cihuayollo (MH575v)
This black-line drawing of the compound glyph for the personal name Cihuayollo (“Women-Heart,” attested here as a man’s name) shows the head of a woman [cihuatl in profile, looking toward the viewer's right. The diagnostic that says "woman" is her hairstyle, where the hair is twisted up into points at about forehead leavel. Below this head is a frontal view of an upright heart. The heart has a strip across the middle and curves along the top.
This is one of many hieroglyphs for men's names that include references to women. The gendering of names in this way deserves further study.
