Ixtlatlal (MH712r)
This black-line drawing of the compound glyph for the personal name, Ixtlatlal (perhaps, “Flat Land”), is attested here as a man’s name. It shows a bird’s eye view of a rectangular parcel of land (tlalli). It is dotted, which suggests this is soil/dirt and perhaps it is seeded. In the middle of the parcel is a frontal view of an eye that is drawn in a European artistic style. This eye (ixtli) is there as a phonetic indicator that the name starts with Ix-.
