Temacehual (MH624v)
This black-line drawing of the simplex glyph for the personal name Temacehual ("Someone's Vassal" or "Someone's Merit") is attested as a man's name. It shows a frontal view of an upright, right hand that is turned away from the viewer. The word for hand (maitl) could be providing the phonetic indication for a syllable in the middle of the name (-ma-). Surrounding the hand are dots, which remain undeciphered. Perhaps they are small stones (tetl), which could provide the phonetic start to the name (Te-).
