Simplex Glyph

Glyph or Iconographic Image Description:

This black-line drawing of the simplex glyph for the place name Tlalnahuac (perhaps “Next to the Land”) shows a bird’s eye view of a horizontal rectangle with a white border and a dark gray inner rectangle. This dark area contains three rows of C shapes, which seem to suggest cultivation.
