tlaxcalli (MH615v)
This element of the noun tlaxcalli (tortilla in English and Spanish) has been carved from the compound glyph for the ethnic name Tlaxcalteca (MH615v). This tortilla has some spots on it which may have come from being cooked on a griddle (comalli). The two hands offer the semantic sense that tortillas were formed by being patted between the hands.
