Xiuhtlapoca (MH624v)
This black-line drawing of the compound glyph for the personal name Xiuhtlapoca (perhaps "Turquoise Smokes") is attested here as a man's name. It shows a group of five small squares, which represent the tesserae used in turquoise (xihuitl) mosaics, providing the Xiuh- start to the name. The -tlapoca (smokes) is represented by the four volutes that rise from the squares. These curl at the top, toward the viewer's left.
