Tecuanicpal (MH503r)
This black-line drawing of the compound glyph for the personal name Tecuanicpal (perhaps "Jaguar Seat") is attested here as a man's name. It shows the head of a jaguar (tecuani, in this case) in profile, looking toward the viewer's right. Behind and seemingly attached to the animal's head may be a ball of yarn (icpatl). This seems to be a homophonic indicator for icpalli (seat). A jaguar seat was like a regal throne.
