Cen Icuic (Verg10r)

This black-line drawing of the compound glyph for the personal name Cen Icuic (“Entirely His Song,” attested here as a man’s name) shows a man's head in profile, looking toward the viewer's left. Coming out of his open mouth is a large, elaborate speech scroll. It is spiraling and has hash marks dividing it into segments. Just below the scroll and the man's chin is a glyph of a corn cob (centli or cintli) with the husk off and kernels visible. This is a phonetic indicator of the word for entirely ("cen").
