This is a black-line drawing of the glyphic element for the noun, cuahuitl (tree), which has been carved from the compound glyph for the personal name, Cuauhxoxoc (see below). We have removed the greenery that suggested spring growth, leaving just the bare tree (cuahuitl) trunk and branches.
