Tepetlaixco (MH659r)
This black-line drawing of the compound glyph for the personal name and probable ethnicity--being a place of origin, Tepetlaixco--is attested here as pertaining to a man. It shows an obsidian blade (itztli) standing in a ceramic pot (comitl). Together, these pieces seem to represent phonetic indicators for -ixco or -tlaixco, the locative suffix meaning on top of or in front of. This suffix is attached to the (not shown) hill or mountain (tepetl).

This glyph is somewhat reminiscent of the glyph for the occupation of tlama (healer, physician).
