Xochicozan (MH686r)

This is black-line drawing of the simplex glyph for the personal name Xochicozan (perhaps “Flower-Lynx,” attested here as a man’s name) shows a lynx (or perhaps weasel, ferret, or even a snow leopard–clearly the translations for cozatli and cozantli require more work). The animal is shown in profile, facing toward the viewer’s right, in something of a seated position, with its front leg(s) raised out in front, and a long tail elevated somewhat.
