Papa (MH840r)

Papa (MH840r)
Simplex Glyph

Glyph or Iconographic Image Description:

This black-line drawing of the simplex glyph for the personal name Papa (perhaps “A Long-Haired Priest”) is attested here as a man’s name. The glyph shows the head of a man in profile, facing toward the viewer’s right. He has long dark hair. Someone later added even more length to the hair (a revision over the original, in different ink).
