Tepalca (MH527r)
Simplex Glyph

Glyph or Iconographic Image Description:

This black-line drawing of the simplex glyph for the personal name or status Tepalca ("One Who Lives in the Home of Another," here, attested as a man’s name) shows a T-shaped structure that resembles the framing of the entryway of a house or building (calli). A person's head in profile, looking toward the viewer's right, is shown next to the T.

Added Analysis:

We have a few examples of the adverb Tepal- in this collection and at least two other examples of the name or status, Tepalca. Tepalca appears in the vocabulary of Alonso de Molina without a final "n," so perhaps the "n" that is indicated on the gloss is intrusive.
