Compound Glyph

Glyph or Iconographic Image Description:

This is a black-line drawing of the compound glyph for the ethnic name Tlaxcalteca, which also serves as a place name for a barrio of Huexotzinco. The compound features a hill or mountain (a semantic locative). On top of the hill is a tortilla (tlaxcalli), which is at the root of the ethnic name.

Added Analysis:

Note the presence of the hill in other examples of Tlaxcalteca, below. This seems to be an important element.
