Yaotl (MH497r)
This black-line drawing of the simplex glyph for the personal name Yaotl ("The Combatant") shows a war shield with a four-part division and a cross in the middle. The upper right and lower left quadrants have dark diagonal lines, while the other two quadrants are left blank. The top and bottom lines of the shield curve inward.

This shield shows European influences. It is not like the chimalli of the autonomous era.
