Xochiuicuic (MH835r)

Xochiuicuic (MH835r)
Compound Glyph

Glyph or Iconographic Image Description:

This black-line drawing of the compound glyph for the personal name Xochicuicuic (perhaps “He Gathered Flowers”) is attested here as a man’s name. The glyph shows a hand holding perhaps two different flowers (xochitl). This may indicate that someone has gathered flowers, reflecting the verb xochicuicui. The unreduplicated cui means ”to take,” which the hand can represent.
