Tonal (MH658r)
This black-line drawing of the compound glyph for the personal name Tonal ("Day," "Sun," or "Solar Animating Force") is attested here as a man's name. It shows a frontal view of a sun in the European style of an anthropomorphic face and pointy rays emanating out from the face. Above the sun is a flower (making the glyph compound), but it does not play an obvious role in this name if the gloss is reliable. It could be that Xochitonal was meant, as this is a popular name.
