Tozquihua (MH606v)

Tozquihua (MH606v)
Compound Glyph

Glyph or Iconographic Image Description:

This black-line drawing of the compound personal name Tozquihua (perhaps "He Can Sing Well") shows a profile of the head of a man. Around his throat (tozquitl) is a ring of feathers, presumably from the yellow-headed parrot (toztli). Tozquitl also refers to someone with a good singing voice.

Added Analysis:

Tozquihua was additionally the name of a lord of Chalco. So perhaps this man was given a famous name in lieu of a reference to his singing voice. See other examples of glyphs of the name Tozquihua, below.
