Xochitl Icac (Verg48r)
This compound Nahuatl hieroglyph is a black-line drawing of the personal name Xochitl Icac (apparently, “Standing Flower”), attested here as a man’s name. The compound has two elements. One is a flower (xochitl) with three visible petals and a three-part stem base. The other is a human leg, shown in profile and facing right. The leg calls forth the verb icac (to stand), a verb in the present tense, which is the second word of the name. The leg with foot could also double as a phonetic complement, reinforcing the Xo- start to the name.
