Quetzalmitl (MH497r)
This black-line drawing of the compound glyph for the personal name Quetzalmitl (here, attested as a man's name) shows a large (presumably quetzal) feather (quetzalli) attached to an arrow (mitl). The arrow is at an angle, with the tip down and slightly to the left. The tip is one with barbs, akin to the crossbow arrow more than the arrows with simple tips or even arrowheads, as found in the Codex Mendoza.
