This black-line drawing of the simplex glyph for the personal name Huitlalotl (“Crested Guan,” attested here as a man’s name) shows the head of a special bird with a crest on the top that curves back from its face. The bird head is in profile, looking toward the viewer's right. Its upper beak is a little bit hooked.
