Tecac (MH760v)

Tecac (MH760v)
Compound Glyph

Glyph or Iconographic Image Description:

This black-line drawing of the compound glyph for the personal name Tecac (perhaps, "Someone's Shoe") is attested here as a man's name. It shows a profile view of a shoe; it faces toward the viewer's right. Below the shoe is a stone (tetl), which provides the phonetic indication that the name starts with Te-. The stone his horizontal with curling ends and diagonal stripes across the middle. These are standard features. Somewhat less typical is the stripe that has hash marks.
